Needs improvements

Needs improvements Cost 7.95$ to use it as messenger with other people that are paying the service on the boat You could not see your reservations

Terrible app

Only works on board the ship and even then it doesnt do anything helpful, like give you the menus for different dining rooms. Review account was somehow linked to another person in our partys room instead of my credit card (only one on file for our party) so had to figure out their errors on the card the morning we docked. The app also failed to go through w setting up shore excursions on multiple occasions w/o any more explanation than transaction failed after inputting everything to try to set up the side trip. Totally disappointing and useless app!

NCL

Worthless app! Dont bother. Im surprised NCL does charge for it. They nickel and dime you for everything else on the cruise.

Updated itself mid-cruise, does not work, wasted money

This app decided to update its self in the middle of my cruise. And now does not see that i am on the ships wifi. Previous version worked fine. Now i wasted 7.95 on the messaging package and intership calling plan.. Way to go guys..

I LOVE NCL BUT..

Previous version worked better!

Absolutely terrible

This app doesnt even work. Cant get the screen to register! Im connected to the ships wifi but it doesnt acknowledge it and says to login to wifi! Needs to be fixed I wouldnt bother downloading and wasting your time!

Junk

Has not worked at all! Been on ship for a week and nobody on board has any details and nothing has been shared with us why it doesnt work...not just me, but everyone on the Jewel. Nice cruise, terrible software and support.

Crap

Does not work on ships wifi!!!

Doesnt even work!

Im on the ship now and my whole family (not just me) cant use it - wont register.

Messaging and Calling dont work

Purchasing on the app seemed to work ok, but messaging and phone services only worked about 30% of the time. To Norwegians credit, they refunded my money as soon as I complained. Disney has a free app that worked perfectly for these services on our last cruise. Not sure why were being charged here for something that hasnt been perfected.

Worst app ever. Doesnt work.

I downloaded the app and paid the $7.95 to use onboard messaging, hoping the other reviewers were just wrong or not tech savvy enough like my friends and I. Unfortunately I was wrong--Norwegian Cruise Line just doesnt know how to write apps that do what they are supposed to. I could connect to the ships wifi and book entertainment or dinner, but messaging never once worked. Worthless and greatly disappointing.

Worthless

Did not work at all on our recent cruise on the Norwegian Sky. App wouldnt connect to ship wifi, even though the phone was clearly connected. FYI- Connecting to ship wifi via my laptop also did not work.

Reservations

Need functionality that lets you retrieve your reservations Surprisingly once you book something there is no way to find out and retrieve it

Very convenient

This was a great app to have. The texting was 7.95 per person but was well worth it, especially with groups. It does force you to carry your phone around on vacation, but was fine because most people use their phone for pics. I had no technical difficulties getting on wifi and using the app. Text and notifications worked well. The one thing they should add is local weather.

Solid.

App was great. Such a luxury to have all the ships itenary, bar and restatunt info in your pocket at all times. I also like messanger. Bein able to chat with my family and friends on the boat at any time With NO DATA charges was clutch.

Useless

I downloaded the app expecting to be able to access my reservation prior to boarding. Fraid not.

Awkward, clunky, counter-intuitive.

Takes what should be a simple, straightforward concept - like contacting your family aboard a ship - and makes it cumbersome. Want to send your family member a text or call them? Open the app. The phone icon is for calls. The speech bubble is for text. BUT, in order to do either you’ll need to counter-intuitively click on the speech bubble. Smart. When you do that, you get the menu offering phone or text messaging options. Choose the phone icon and it will open up the phone keyboard - which you will never use because everyone is assigned their own personal on-board ship number.. So, now you will have to go to the bottom of the phone and open the contacts menu where you had previously, painstakingly entered all your contacts’ information. When you open the contacts menu you’ll instinctively touch the name of the person you want to call. Why? Because every iPhone and every other phone in the whole wide world does that. But no. Here, touching the name of the person you want to call (or text) opens the editing menu. What you actually need to do is touch the phone icon that’s over on the far right. Would you like to send a group text to the 12 other members of your family telling them that Norwegian messed up your dinner reservation? You can’t! The app doesn’t do group texting, just because. Will your text get through? A lot of the time, yes. Sometimes, no. Would you be furious if you had to pay for this app or the service it sometimes provides? Absolutely. Is it better than nothing? Sure. But having a smartly designed app would be one less thing folks cruising on Norwegian would have to complain about.

Needs work...

NCL has a nerve charging $7.95 per cruise for this app unless they get the bugs out. It constantly loses the WiFi connection and you end up having to clear the app from memory and restart it. Ive had quite a few messages reach me hours after they were sent which defeats the purpose. Im also pretty sure theres a bug when you logout from ships internet - it drops the apps WiFi connection. Reservation function wont work on the current day. Would also be helpful if they posted daily restaurant MENUS as well.

GREAT APP!!!

We had a group of 8, 6 of us had this app and it was wonderful. The first day we went by the main desk and found we were putting in the wrong number for each person so we made the updates and never had an issue. What a great way to keep in touch with everybody while were all out having fun on the ship.

Horrible app. Nonfunctional

The in-house VOIP ringer is barely audible... So you can never tell if you receiving an incoming call unless you continue to check visually.... The app quit on the day before we arrive back to dock....
